Tansian University Management Urges Students to Prioritize Innovation, Discipline, and Information Verification

The management of Tansian University has formally exhorted returning students to prioritize innovation and creativity in their academic endeavors.

In his speech at the University’s Law Auditorium, the Acting Vice Chancellor, Very Rev. Fr. Prof. Nnamdi Nwankwo, encouraged students to actively participate and excel in inter-university competitions as a mechanism to refine their creative capabilities. Furthermore, he charged the student body to maintain strict personal discipline and eschew distractions that could compromise their academic focus.

Prof. Nwankwo noted that numerous private universities successfully secure government scholarships as a direct result of their landmark exploits in research and innovation. While commending the historical academic achievements of the university’s various departments since its inception, he challenged the current student populace to lead contemporary research initiatives, emphasizing that the ultimate objective of higher education is to proffer viable solutions to societal challenges. To facilitate this, he affirmed the institution's readiness to financially sponsor verified breakthroughs in research and creativity, while concurrently urging lagging students to rise to the rigorous demands of their studies.

Addressing contemporary digital communication, the Acting Vice Chancellor counseled the students to exercise mature discernment regarding social media content. Acknowledging that digital media possesses both constructive and detrimental dimensions, he cautioned against the risk of derailment by unverified online narratives and admonished students to validate all information through institutional channels before taking action.

In alignment with these remarks, the Registrar, Rev. Dr. Innocent Ukeh, characterized the current social media landscape as precarious. He cautioned students against acting on anonymous or frivolous online reports, advising them to consult official university channels whenever clarification is required.

Additionally, the Bursar, Sir Valentine Ikeanyionwu, issued a critical notice regarding financial compliance. He warned students against disregarding official university directives and memos, specifically cautioning against depositing funds into unverified or suspicious bank accounts.

He reiterated the Registrar's directive to verify any ambiguous financial or administrative claims circulating on social media through legitimate offices.

The interactive assembly concluded with a formal question-and-answer session, providing a platform for direct academic and administrative dialogue between the students and the principal officers of the university.
